1st year UniTrento students of the master's degree course in:

Why Osnabrück?

A dynamic university in a vibrant Lower Saxony city rich in tradition and culture, home to the Peace of Westphalia which ended the so-called Thirty Years War in 1648.
Founded in 1974, the University of Osnabrück offers a familiar atmosphere thanks to its middle size (14,000 students).

What is the added value?

In Italy and abroad, a double degree is always an added value. Not only the experts say it, you just have to browse through the vacancies to realize that companies and organizations are looking for international and open-minded profiles, capable of working in multicultural teams and facing ever new global challenges.
The courses of study in Cognitive Sciences in Rovereto and Osnabrück are complementary: while in Osnabrück the focus is on computational linguistics, artificial intelligence, robotics, neuroscience and philosophy, the Rovereto program focuses on cognitive psychology, neuroscience, social sciences and mathematics.

What are the professional outlets?

Graduates with dual qualifications can aspire to work in companies with strong cross-border ties: Germany is in fact the first commercial partner of Italy and Italy is the third partner of Germany.

What are the requirements at the time of departure?

  • have obtained at least 30 credits 

How long does mobility abroad take?

2 semesters (50 credits) from October.

Study plan

The study plan must be agreed and approved in advance by both academic supervisors.

In which language?

Most of the courses are in English language.

Thesis

The thesis (final test) can be discussed either at UniTrento or at the host site in front of a mixed commission and must be filed in both locations according to the rules and deadlines of each university.

Tuition fees

Students participating in the double degree program pay the tuition fees exclusively at UniTrento.
The host institution requires the compulsory contribution for complementary services (which includes concessions for public transport in the region) of approx. 315 euros / year.

Educational qualification

At the end of the double degree course, students obtain two separate second cycle degree diplomas:

-  from UniTrento: Laurea magistrale in Cognitive Science
- from Osnabrück: Master's degree in Congitive Science
