International opportunities for students

Find below information about the process to enrol in a Bachelor or Master programme in English.

From December to March: APPLICATION

You apply online by the application deadline. Specific admission requirements and procedures are listed in the Academic offer in English page.

From April to July: GUIDANCE FROM THE INTERNATIONAL OFFICE

Admitted students will receive guidance by email and will be provided specific information about accommodation request, tuition fees, health insurance.

PRE-ENROLMENT PROCEDURE

The university pre-enrolment application must be carried out before the enrolment.

First of all, you have to complete the online procedure on the UniversItaly website (please find the procedure in the download box). After UniTrento verification you will receive a notification in your email account specifying if the application has been approved or not. If your application is approved, your pre-enrolment application will be transmitted to the Italian Representative.  Please consider that the documents listed in the section below are requested already at this stage. If not available your application on Universitaly will be approved "upon condition".

The following pre-enrolment phases will be completed at the relevant Diplomatic-consular Representatives in order to obtain the student visa. Please make sure to book an appointment to the relevant Consular office well in advance.

VISA

After completion of the pre-enrolment application you must apply for a university study/enrolment visa at the Italian consular diplomatic Representative.
Usual requirements for a student visa are:

  • proof of economic means (about 450.00 euros/month);
  • proof of health insurance;
  • proof of accommodation availability; 
  • the admission letter.

EDUCATIONAL DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ENROLMENT

During the summer it will be asked to confirm your enrolment in the an online application. To confirm the enrolment the following documents must be produced according to the type of degree you are enrolling in:

Bachelor's degree (Laurea)
Master's degree (Laurea Magistrale)

If you obtained your Secondary school diploma after 12 years of education:

  • Copy of your passport;
  • Original of the Secondary school educational qualification, legalized (or with Apostille stamp if applicable) by the Authority of the country which issued the certification, and officially translated in Italian or English only if not already available in English, French, German or Spanish;
  • If applicable, CIMEA Statement of comparability or Verification Statement (you will be informed by the International Mobility office if you need to produce this document)
  • Transcript of records of the last two years of study (grade 11th and 12th), either in the original English, French, German or Spanish version or officially translated in Italian or English

If you obtained your Secondary school diploma after 10 or 11 years of education:

 

  • Copy of your passport;
  • Original of the Secondary school educational qualification, legalized (or with Apostille stamp if applicable) by the Authority of the country which issued the certification, and officially translated in Italian or English only if not already available in English, French, German or Spanish;
  • If applicable, CIMEA Statement of comparability or Verification Statement (you will be informed by the International Mobility office if you need to produce this document)
  • Transcript of records of the last two years of study either in the original English, French, German or Spanish version or officially translated in Italian or English
  • Transcript of records from a recognized University with the list of passed exams corresponding to one year (for 11 years of education) or two years (for 10 years of education) of Higher education. 

In case you have an official University entrance exam in your Home country to access Higher Education (e.g. Gao Kao in China, EDEM in Brazil, YKS in Turkey...) you have to produce the certificate attesting you passing the entrance exam.

Additional requirements for High school diploma (US) and General Certificate of Education (UK) as listed in the Allegato 1 of the Procedures for entry, residency and enrolment of International students

If you obtained your degree in a University based in one of the countries which adhered to the European Higher Education Area

 

  • Copy of your passport;
  • Original of the University degree legalized (or with Apostille stamp if applicable) by the Authority of the country which issued the certification, and officially translated in Italian or English only if not already available in English, French, German or Spanish;
  • Diploma Supplement

If you obtained your degree in a University not based in the European Higher Education Area

  • Copy of your passport;
  • Original of the University degree legalized (or with Apostille stamp if applicable) by the Authority of the country which issued the certification, and officially translated in Italian or English only if not already available in English, French, German or Spanish;
  • If applicable, CIMEA Statement of comparability or Verification Statement (you will be informed by the International Mobility office if you need to produce this document)
  • Transcript of records, either in the original English, French, German or Spanish version or officially translated in Italian or English.
