This unbelievable journey brought me to the Nanoscience Laboratory, where I was able to contribute, learn, and realize myself fully. I feel fully integrated into the group thanks to my Italian language skills that I have obtained during these months and in this amazing working atmosphere of scientific curiosity and the vigor for the new discoveries and applications. I grew up personally and professionally. I learnt to live far from family with help of new international friends, who I found here.

Hence, during this one year, I get to know the possibilities for PhD students, the high level of education that provides the university and in particular, the Department of Physics, which is one of the bests in Italy. I already have an experience, that will definitely be useful for me as a PhD student.

In a nutshell, the time which I spent in Trento was a life learning experience, which actually showed me a path, how to move forward in my life. I will definitely recommend students to avail this opportunity and have the most out of it.

“It's been amazing for me to be in Trento, I’ve been through great professional and personal experiences. The laboratories where I have conducted my research have an excellent infrastructure and I have everything I need for my work. Besides having a very attentive and caring supervisor, and very gentle fellow who help me whenever I need but certainly one of the most enriching experiences I’ve had in Trento, it’s living with students from around the world. This international feature present at the University of Trento, I believe it is its most important feature, undoubtedly, this contact I’ve had with people of different nationalities, cultures and languages it has brought an incalculable personal gain for myself. Something that surprised me here at the University of Trento, was the quality of service provided to the foreign students, the welcome office work is excellent, they are very organized and make our lives much easier.â€

Deciding to do an exchange at the University of Trento was one of the best decisions of my life. It has truly been a life changing experience. It also exposed me to the politics of another country, an element highly beneficial to what I am studying at Carleton. Finally, the opportunity to travel all over Europe further opened my eyes to a variety of perspectives and developed my appreciation for the history of other countries and how this effects their identity today. This mobility could be of huge benefit to other Carleton students. Studying at Trento provides a deeper look at the inner workings of alternative political systems as well as an appreciation for alternative teaching styles and practices. Students will also benefit from the amazing language courses offered free of charge and expose students to the beauty of being able to communicate in the native language of the country in which you are living. Finally, the opportunity to travel across Europe while studying here is truly eye opening and extremely beneficial for those studying international relations as you become more aware of a diversity of perspectives and cultures.

It’s really a great honor to get the opportunity to come to the tranquil but fascinating Italian city of Trento to study, especially in a university which has such a good level of teaching quality as the University of Trento. As a student majored in the language of Italian, it has proved to be another grand fortune to deepen my study emerging myself in an environment of Italian language, culture and people. Since i study exactly Italian, I participate the courses taught in Italian. I study with the ‘real’ Italian students not only with the international students, which means that i can experience a real school life of a ‘real’ European university. read more The teachers here have given me huge help on studies, which is indispensable to my quick adaptation to the new study environment and to the totally new way of studying. And they do know and concern about my troubles in studying in a foreign country in foreign languages. They are good mentors not only in the aspect of study but also of my life here. And the Italians students are wiling to help me in studies and they also give me useful indications in the life here. But this doesn’t mean that i can’t get in touch with international students o i miss the opportunities of knowing multiple cultures. Quite the opposite, i’ve known lots of foreign students from different countries all over the world, such as America, Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, Czech Republic, German, France and so on. And the welcome office of the University of Trento from time to time organizes some interesting trips for international students and it’s another great occasion to know new people and to make new friends. The facilities that the University has provided us are excellent, as you can see, the gorgeous well-designed school buildings and we have free access to the most beautiful and modern library in Trento. The dormitory area here is well-organized and can feed a variety of needs. The beautiful views and peaceful environment provide us good conditions of study. Generally, i really enjoy the studies and life here, they are challenging but i appreciate the challenges since to meet up with different challenges is exactly what our young people should do at our age. The experience that i’ve gotten here will definitely leave a deep footprint on the road of life.

It has never occurred to me that I would fly thousands of miles to begin a six-month exchange study in a university that is located among Alps mountains in northern Italy. Worried, nervous, excited, a mix of feelings immersed me for the very moment I set my foot on this completely unfamiliar land. I still clearly remember the first time I strolled around this small town. It was a shiny morning, a little bit cold. I could see the snow on top of the mountains shining, under the blue sky without even a piece of cloud. I was wandering with no purpose. Everything was so different, the streets paved by bricks, the yellow-red façade of buildings, churches, castle, and even the expressions wore on passers-by, they constituted a picture that I can never find in my hometown. read more Before starting taking courses, the welcome office gave us sufficient supports to have us get familiar with all the procedures that we have to finish. Thanks to their efforts, everything goes on smoothly and we started to being familiar with the surroundings of Trento. During the periods of going through all kinds of procedures, I made so many friends from all over the world with various backgrounds that sometimes I even can hardly believe that there is such intense an intercommunication of different cultures happening in this tiny town. University of Trento is much larger than my degree university whatever from the number of students or faculties. Unlike most Chinese universities, here in Trento, all the buildings of the university are scattered among the whole town with no gates nor walls. Students here very much enjoy the chatting time in the afternoon with a cup of coffee from vending machine while their Chinese counterparts don’t do much talking. It reflects a different way of living and now I am also used to holding a cup of coffee, sitting on a bench, enjoying the sunshine and talking with friends. I am following four courses. The professors are quite nice and humorous. When compared to my home university, here they require more of extensive studying with no specification on a certain textbook. Students are studying pretty hard here since you can find them studying even in the early morning, which is beyond my expectation. Italy is known for its cuisine, fashion and wine. I have traveled couples of cities in Italy, seeing magnificent mountains rising in Renon, and vast plains of farms along the railway. Besides pizza and pasta, I also have tried some other Italian food from the countless pizzeria and bars hidden in the streets. Life here is quite slow-paced, which I think is a great way to relax ourselves. If I got enough money, I would definitely buy a house in Italy, perhaps along the beautiful coast, enjoying sunshine and wine with my family. It has been a long time since I first arrived here. Though varying dramatically in ways of life, now I have got used to almost everything here with the support from university staffs and my friends. Italy is a great country and I only explored a little about her. I am sure that the experience of exchange will be the treasury in my memory and I sincerely hope the communication between our two universities as well as our two great countries will keep going, knowing each other better and better.

I have been studying in University of Trento since February of 2017 as an exchange student from China. It is definitely a fantastic experience for me. First of all, I appreciate the warm welcome from the welcome office and the high quality of the education, which enable me to pay attention to the course and find the difference between the educations of both Italy and China. And then, what I cherish most is the friendships among me and my foreign friends. There are many other exchange student from all over the world, such as the USA, Philippines, Japan and other European countries. It is really a good chance for cultural exchange. And I find that the relation between two countries does not influence the friendship between two persons. We all want to show our kindness and learn the culture and life in other countries. Last, I need to say thank you to EU for its financial support. The Erasmus project is a great platform for international student to learn and live together. The mobility experience at the University of Trento was great. Everything was organised and facilitated extremely well and efficiently. The academic staff was very kind and helpful to plan and deliver effective sessions with the students. The staff of the International Relations Office of the university was highly supportive to solve any possible administrative issues related to the mobility and my stay in Trento. The contact sessions with the students focused on topics related to the sustainability of the built environment, including a reflection on the challenges experienced in the context of developing countries such as South Africa. The students actively participated in the sessions, enhancing the value of learning, knowledge sharing and awareness raising that the mobility programme aimed at. The mobility was an exceptional experience from a personal and professional development perspective, and also contributed to strengthening the collaboration between the two institutions. The University of Trento it’s a one of the most advanced Italian universities with full English-speaking master programs. During my Scholarship, I had the opportunity to work in RNA Biology and Biotechnology Lab, under advising of Prof. Michela A. Denti. Also I spent some time in the laboratory of our collaborators from the Functional Genomics group in Istituto Agrario, S. Michele all'Adige. Both groups provide state-of-the-art studies on miRNA in animals and plants. So i had the opportunity to learn some classical and modern RNA molecular biology techniques, and take part in the study of apple fruit development patterns. Spending a term as an Erasmus student in the University of Trento gave me an incredible opportunity to immerse myself deep in the life of multinational student community, benefit from new experiences and gain fresh insights into studying abroad. Although a recent outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic struck Italy heavily, it didn't stop university professors and stuff from providing excellent education services and creating an outstanding distance learning system. Flexible schedules and an opportunity to choose subjects which are not available at my home university were great benefits, as well. Besides, living in the heart of the Dolomites and seeing its amazing nature every day just around you can inspire and encourage anyone to overcome any difficulties. So, if you have an excellent academic performance and an English assessment test is the only obstacle between you and studying in Trento, you should definitely take your chance and try.

My name is Andriy and I am 23. At the moment I am fully concentrated on my career track in Business development direction. Being super lucky with the chance to have my Mobility experience twice still means a lot to me. I feel the reflection of this experience in a way I see the world, treat people around, organize my work routine and even behave in day to day life. Even two semesters in the most picturesque country of the World can still shape your tastes and cultural background. So for me it's absolutely clear why I can find myself listening to Ludovico Einaudi or trying to learn Italian in such far place as Ukraine (2 hours by plane, but stil....). I managed to build some strong academic, professional and friendship connections that attach me to Europe, Trento and Italy. Many cultural and emotional things were reconsidered and more to go. The exchange period that I took with Uni Trento from February to July 2018 has been a wonderful experience for me. This is my first-time study abroad so it has a strong impact on me. In this five months period, I have been able to learn many new things that will prove very helpful for my future career. However, before I share my experience, I want to give my gratitude for the warm welcome and support of the Welcome Office during the time I stayed in Trento. This support has allowed me to adapt to my new environment really quick and enabled me to enjoy my exchange period to the fullest extent. During these time, I have the chance to experience the difference in the education level and education system between Vietnam and Italy. The level of support I received from professors at the University of Trento is higher than what we have in Vietnam, which has helped me to understand more things about my courses. But the things I impressed the most with Uni Trento is its international cooperation level. There are a lot of students from all over the world such as Italy, the Netherlands, the United State, Estonia, Pakistan, Iran, Japan, China... study in Trento and I have been able to make friends with them, which is a truly wonderful experience for me. It was great. I had a superb leader who was doing her best to give me all the information. Also other colleagues in the clinic were nice and helpful.

Trento is a wonderful small city with lots of activities, bars and restaurants. You can go to beautiful lakes, on top of high mountains or just relax in Verona, Venice or other big cities. The people are nice and the uni Trento is good. There is actually no offer for sociology in English, if your not a master student, so I had to choose courses from outside of my study plan. My Trip was way too short, I will come back soon.

My generale academic experience here in Trento was interesting to see another university experience in another country noticing their differences and similarities. The possibility of choosing in our time table making was great for me to persenalys or choses in fonction of our taste and interested topics. Seeing how the different credits are disposed of, being particularly high compared to France was a change in the depth I could go in my classes and work. Having fuere classes meant a necessary immersion in the topic was crucial for papers and exams. Which meant a lot of time spent studying at the library every day. In terms of my personal experience here in trento and abroad, it made me question and made me notice and work on myself. Being more aware of my personal needs and capacities. Leaving the comfort of your social circle is a great exercise to learn more about yourself, through failures and achievements. I think I have changed since the beginning of the year. This isnt always an easy exercise yet with time you make new pillars for yourself. It has been an academic, social, outdoor experience for me this year.

My stay at UniTrento was really enjoyable. I had very interesting classes (Sociology of Generations; Socilogy of Collective Action; Home, Place and Displacement). Altogether, I had a good time. UniTrento was always there to help in case something was unclear or I needed assistance. Me being a Bachelor student at my home university and taking Master courses at UniTrento was not an issue. Generally, I would advise everyone to do a Erasmus here and enjoy Trento, the mountains, the surrounding lakes and everything else Italy has to offer. I will definitely be back!

I liked it very much in Trento, because it is a nice small city, but there was always something going on and you always met the same people. Therefore, it was easy to get to know the locals as well as other Erasmus students. The events organized by the Erasmus organization also contributed a lot to this. In addition, there were many opportunities for leisure activities in the area. For example, there are beautiful areas for hiking or you can explore the surrounding cities, such as Verona or Venice. Compared to Germany, life at the university was a bit more chaotic, but also more personal. You could interact more with the professors because the courses were usually smaller and there was a great focus on each individual student, which I really liked. It also allowed me to expand my knowledge of Italian. All in all, it was a very nice semester and I would repeat it anytime.

In general, it was amazing. I did like studies, professors, communication via mobility manager when needed, location of the university. Accommodation reservation was challenging, I stayed in Rovereto due to lack of accommodation in Trento, which was a small minus fror my mobility, but anyhow I had a lot of fun, a great time and an amazing experience to remember. Beside academic knowledge I boosted my language skills and got to know better other cultures, which helps me alot now at work. I was worried If after 30 age Erasmus+ is still plesent experiance. I can assure you - it is still an amazing experience :) Thank you for having me in Trento!

My academic experience was very valuable as I could choose from a lot of possibilities within the Law faculty. I did Comparative Energy law which was high level and interesting topics, even led me to choose for a Master in this field at Groningen University and my Trento professor wrote an amazing Letter of Recommendation! I also did Law and Religion fabulously taught and very interesting, I still quote things from the course. Then Comparative Constitutional law of minority groups taught by Professor Woelk had a very warm and interactive atmosphere and was eye opening to me e.g. it explains in detail the Balkan war effects and the building up of the region afterwards and also the special region and legislative situation of Trento itself. My personal experience was also very nice, since I brought my white shepard dog "Momo" I had the opportunity to take long walks with him in the mountains and the numerous dogfriendly Trento parks. I even could bring him into restaurants where they adored him! People were far more relaxed and easy going then I was used to, so I really had the best time ever.

Thanks to the internships at the Animal Cognition & Neuroscience Laboratory I went beyond my comfort zone and experienced new challenges in the international scientific world. I have very fond memories of this adventure, because it allowed me to discover a new view and perspectives on the work of neurobiologists. I met wonderful, intelligent people who are an amazing inspiration for me. In addition, I was able to explore the beautiful Rovereto and admire the mountain surroundings as well as delicious Italian food.

I enjoyed the north of Italy in general SO much! I totally fell in love with it. The university itself it has a more modern look which doesn't make it so "empowering" but the teachers are very good and very kind. Trento is an AMAZING city with so much more to see and experience than I first thought. Amazing weather in general, amazing food, amazing environment, very clean city and an amazing community spirit. I was truly happy there and I hope to be back to Trento soon enough.

In Trento, I really lived a maximum experience of Erasmus' academic side and friendship side. Trento has beautiful nature and people that are always want to help. Also the International Mobility team was so helpful to answer my all questions and doubts. And it's close to popular cities like Venice, Milano and etc.

Being an Erasmus student changed my life completely - in a good way! The semester in Trento was amazing. It has given me a chance to get in touch with Italian culture and people. I am totally in love with area. This has been not only an exchange semester, but also lifetime experience. I met a lot of interesting interesting and talented people, Professors are great, they all happy to help If you have any questions. I wish I had studied at a normal time, then I could have fully explored student life at UniTrento.
