Human resources are one of the most important assets of modern organizations: the people make the place. In fact, human resources management is recognized as one of the most important factors contributing to and maintaining an organization’s strategic advantage. Effective human resource management is an important determinant of an organization’s capacity to adapt to its environment and changes therein. In short, human resource management is essential to the survival of organizations.
This course provides an opportunity for students to become acquainted with the theories, methods and applications of contemporary behavioural science in the management of people, work groups and organizations. The course is designed to provide the students with a greater understanding of how organizations work, and why individuals behave the way they do within the organizational context.

Lecturer: Prof. Roberta Cuel (University of Trento – Italy)
