The agreement provides for the possibility for UniTrento students to obtain, at the end of two semesters of mobility at Indiana University at a reduced rate, also the American title of LL.M, valid in the States for passing the BAR exam for legal practice in some states.

What is the added value?

In Italy and abroad, a double degree is always an added value. Not only experts say it, it is enough to browse through the job offers to realize that companies and organizations are looking for international profiles and open-minded, able to work in multicultural teams and to face ever new global challenges.
Moreover, you can attend an American degree course with a reduction of 50% on the tuition fees.
At Indiana University Maurer School of Law, you may specialize in one of six areas of law: business and commercial law, financial regulation and capital markets, intellectual property law, cybersecurity and information privacy law, international and comparative law & globalization, or American law. You can also join the Learning and Working (LAW) Program to gain valuable legal experience while completing your studies.
There are many optional and fun activities with current students during the orientation. Maurer LLM students take all but two of their classes together with American JD students. We are a small and welcoming law school where everyone is treated like family.
You can read a testimonial from a UniTrento student in the downloads.

What are the professional outlets?

The title of LL.M. is obtained after a year of study at the Indiana University Bloomington and certifies knowledge, at master level, of the law of the United States of America. The LLL.M. is a title appreciated in the legal professions market and by Italian and foreign employers, as, among other things, it proves that a student has been able to complete a course of study in legal subjects completely in English in a law school in the United States of America. The achievement of the title of LL.M. at a university accredited by the American Bar Association also allows you to participate in the Bar Exam and therefore, potentially, to practice law in some American states including New York and California, in compliance with the criteria established in each state  (see the BAR admission guide in the Useful Links).
