Non-EU citizens living outside Italy
University of Trento provides non-EU citizens permanently residing abroad with scholarships for the top scored candidates. For European citizens and non European citizens permanently residing in Italy scholarships are granted by Opera Universitaria, through a yearly online call.
For the first year of enrollment, scholarships are awarded according to the points gained in the final ranking lists.Top scored non-European candidates will be entitled to receive one of UniTrento scholarships for the yearly amount of 7.200 Euros (8500 euros for female students enrolled in STEM degrees). Students will be notified if they are entitled to a scholarship when the short list are published. If you benefit from one of UniTrento scholarships, the tuition fees are waived but, since the number of scholarships is limited, you are not necessarily entitled to receive a UniTrento scholarship if you turn out to be in the "fee waiver" bracket. The amount is payed in two instalments:
- 1st instalment by the end of December of the first year of enrollment;
- 2nd instalment by the end of May of the first year of enrolmment, only if the credits you have gained are at least 50% of the total credit amount that you are supposed to get during the exam session of January and February.
If you do not fulfil the requirement to receive the second instalment in May, you will be allowed to get the second instalment in October provided that you get 42 credits (36 for degrees in Italian) by August 10th.
Should you not be able to get the needed credits by 10th August, you will be asked to give back the part of scholarship already received and you will have to pay the fees established for the next academic year, according to the range values in the table below.

Scholarship confirmation and enrolment renewal
The scholarship can be extended to the following academic year after verification of the students' performance, following the procedure described above based on the verification of credits earned during each year, with the same deadlines. The yearly scholarship can be extended until September of the following academic year within the regular duration of your degree course. This means that the maximum duration of the scholarship for a Master's student is of 2 years and for a Bachelor's student is 3 years. Every September the credits you have gained until 10th August are checked so that your scholarship can be confirmed and extended to the following year. Should you not be entitled for the scholarship extension, you will have to pay the tuition fees amount according to the table above.
Starting with the a.y. 2022/2023 the yearly amount of the UniTrento scholarships will be raised to 7.200 Euros (8500 euros for female students enrolled in STEM degrees)
