Information for international students in Trento

For general policies and measures implemented on a national level by the Italian government, please see the English version of the webpage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
To find our more about Coronavirus emergency measures in place at the local level visit the websites of the Province of Trentino and The University of Trento
In addition, considering the rapidly evolving international health emergency related to the outbreak of COVID-19, the consequent limitation or cancellation of academic activities at partner universities and the provisions of the European Commission, UniTrento has adopted the following policies specifically for exchange students in Trento.

International Students Wanting to Go Back to Their Home Country or Called Back by Their Home University

Immediiately inform your UniTrento Mobility Office:

  • Science and Technology: mobility-st [at] unitn.it
  • Social Sciences and Humanities: mobility-ssh [at] unitn.it
  • Cognitive Science: mobility-cs [at] unitn.it

Include in the same e-mail your request to cancel your accommodation contract (if you are staying in Opera Universitaria dormitories).

Carefully check travel restrictions and border closures before you buy any travel tickets;
Verify that all trains, buses and flights that you may use to travel are confirmed as operational;
Confirm with your home university that they will accept the on-line and distance exam-taking options that will be offered to you by the University of Trento in order to earn the credits included in your study plan.

International Students Wanting to Stay at UniTrento

All classes are suspended until at least April 13th 2020. UniTrento courses are currently available online.
Should you need to change your Learning Agreement, send us any modification request forms even if they are not yet signed by your home university and we will insert the courses in order to allow you to access the online platforms.

In case of problems related to exchanges or other issues (health, services, general information) contact your UniTrento Mobility Office:

  • Science and Technology: mobility-st [at] unitn.it
  • Social Sciences and Humanities: mobility-ssh [at] unitn.it
  • Cognitive Science: mobility-cs [at] unitn.it
International Students Selected for Future Exchanges

According to indications from the Italian government and the European Commission all outgoing and incoming exchanges have been cancelled until further notice.
After consultation with your UniTrento Mobility Office and approval from the host institution, we recommend that all students reschedule their study or internship abroad starting from July 2020. However, we strongly suggest that you do not make travel and lodging arrangements too far in advance because the worldwide health emergency is still constantly evolving. Expenditures incurred after March 17th 2020 will not be reimbursed even in the case of future cancellations.
