Grades

The Italian University System is based on a scale ranging from 0 to 30, with 18 as a pass mark. A cum laude may be added to the highest grade (30 e lode), as a mention of special distinction (the grade system). 

Italian A2 courses and exams

All non-Italian students have to take an A2 language exam. Courses are offered by the Trento University Language Centre where you can also take the exam. All courses are free of charge.

Alternatively, several international certificates are recognised by Trento University. These are listed at the last link below. These certificates are offered by Italian Cultural Centres in many European cities (Prague, Edinburgh etc) but are not free of charge and are not always held regularly.

Calendar

Students will spend the second semester of the first year at UniTrento. The academic calendar is published on the SIS website.

Courses syllabus

Students can access more information on course content via our online platform (Esse3). Here they will find information about course objectives and learning outcomes, entrance requirements, content, teaching and learning methods and activities, tests and assessment criteria, as well as bibliography / study materials

Study plan

In order to register to exams, the teaching and learning activities must be included in your Student Record on Esse3.

To enter teaching and learning activities (courses) in your Student Record, you have to fill in your Study Plan in Esse3 - Study plan -Career plan:

from 1st to 31st March 

If you intend to choose an elective course other than those listed in Esse3, you have send an email to imsiss.sis [at] unitn.it (object: free elective course) and we'll check with the Coordinator if your
choice can be approved or not

Examination enrolment

At the end of each course students must enrol for the final examinations via Esse3. Before enrolling they must fill in a questionnaire about the quality of the course.

Graduation

The graduation will be managed by the University of Glasgow. In order to get also the UniTrento degree students will have to enrol to the first available graduation session at SIS after their thesis defense.
