Which course?

You can apply to the Double Degree Programme with UniTrento for the Master's degree course in 
Energy Engineering - LM 30, jointly offered by UniTrento and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (unibz)

Who can apply?

You can apply to the Double Degree Programme (DDP) with UniTrento if you:
  • are enrolled in the Master's degree course in Energy Engineering at Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Industrial de Barcelona, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and have fulfilled at least 60 credits
  • have a B2 level of English language

What is the added value?

In Italy and abroad, a double degree is always an added value. Not only the experts say it, you just have to browse through the job offers to realize that companies and organizations are looking for international and open-minded profiles, able to work in multicultural teams and to face ever new global challenges.

How long is the mobility?

The mobility lasts at least 2 semesters. The double master’s degree has a duration between 120 and 135 ECTS, with the exact amount varying on the basis of the individual study plan. A higher number of credits may be required in special circumstances and agreed with the student.

Specific requirements and study plan

While at UniTrento you have to obtain normally 60 credits according to a  Study plan defined jointly with coordinators of both universities.

  • the remaining semesters and credits will be fulfilled at UPC
  • Non-native Italian speakers must take an exam of technical Italian language within the end of their mobility. You will able to attend for free Italian classes at the University Language Center.

Courses are in English.

Thesis

The master’s thesis is normally co-supervised by an academic tutor of both home and host institution and carried out at the host institution, but exceptions may be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
The subject of the master’s thesis must always receive advance approval in writing from a faculty member of the host as well as the home institution. 
The thesis can be defended either in Italy or in Spain, but the panel should have at least one member from each institution.

Tuition fees

Students participating in the double degree program pay the tuition fees exclusively at UPC  except for 3 revenue stamps of 16 euros each.

Educational qualification

At the end of the double degree course, students obtain two separate 2nd cycle degree diplomas:
- Master's degree in Energy Engineering (MENERG) from UPC (ETSEIB)
- Inter-university Master's degree in Energy Engineering - LM 30 from UniTrento and unibz
