All participants who will be in continuous contact with each other for the duration of the event (local and international students, academic coordinators, UniTrento administrative staff and collaborators), are required to take a molecular or antigenic COVID-19 swab test at their own charge. Details will be provided soon.

Contents
The 2021 TRES Summer School will consist of lectures on specific topics given by national and international scholars, as well as working groups to design pre-feasibility studies.
Public and private actors will be invited to communicate good practices in the region and there will be also guided tours to functioning case studies and current project sites.
The 2021 TRES Program includes the following:
1. Lectures and Discussion
- The concepts of sustainability and circular economy
- Waste and wastewater management at different scales
- Contaminated sites: recovery and upgrading
- Landscape and urban planning design approaches
- Agrifood: sustainable agriculture for high-quality food
2. Teaching Methodology and Tasks
The Teaching Methodology consists of:
- Preparatory work and traditional classes
- Analysis and pre-feasibility of local and international case studies through an integrated approach (technology-management-planning)
- Final project (optional)
3. Cultural Tours and Visits
Students will participate in a series of field visits in order to learn about innovative case studies currently active in the Trentino region, such as:
- the anaerobic digestion plant at Cadino
- remediation of the Ischia Podetti landfill
- innovative solutions for the curbside collection of municipal solid waste in Trento
- visit to the Edmund Mach Foundation research and innovation center
4. Involvement of Local Actors
The designers of the Cadino plant, the Ischia Podetti landfill project and sustainable practices of the Municipality of Trento will be involved in collective lectures and project reviews.
This program may be adapted according to the future COVID-19 situation and related travel restrictions.
Participant Background
Admission reserved for up to 18 senior undergraduate and graduate international students (upper-level Bachelor's and all Master's students) with a background in Civil and Environmental Engineering or Architecture.
A good level of English is needed (minimum level B2).
Students coming from partner universities must be pre-selected and nominated by partner universities. UniTrento will carry out a final screening of the applications.
External students from non-partner universities are selected by UniTrento only.
All students are required to upload their CV, ToR (Transcript of Records) and a motivation letter when applying.
Only on-line applications will be accepted using the Application Tool available starting from March in the Useful links section.
Workload and Credits
The School, taught entirely in the English language, consists of 8 hours per day of organized activities (lectures, workshops, seminars, visits to local companies, excursions).
At the end of the School participants will receive an official UniTrento transcript of records certifying 4 ECTS (+ 2 possible additional credits for optional extra work to be arranged with the academic coordinator).
Accommodation
All participants will stay in a single room in a hotel or residence. Check-in planned on Sunday 11, check out due by 10.00 a.m. on Saturday 24 July.
Participation Fees
Students from UniTrento partners universities: 450 Euros
External students (from non-partner universities): 1.000 Euros
A maximum of 2 ECIU students free of charge (selected among other ECIU students, on the basis of merit, academic profile and motivation letter). All other admitted ECIU students pay the university partner fee.
In addition to academic activities, participation fees include: accommodation, meals in the university restaurant during the week, bus pass and social/cultural programs. All round trip travel costs to and from Rovereto are to be covered individually by each participant.

Nominations by partner Universities: by 15 April 2021.
All students are asked to finalize their on-line application by 30 April 2021 and to upload their CV, ToR (Transcript of Records) and a motivation letter. The on-line application will be available starting from April in the Useful Links section.
The School will be activated with a minimum number of 10 participants.
