Before you leave from your country make sure that:

If you are a non EU student:

  • your passport/identity document is valid for the entire period of your stay in Trento;
  • your health insurance coverage is valid for Italy for the entire period of your stay or at least for the first month  and then you are aware that you must buy the Italian Health Insurance;
  • you have a type D or type C Visa (according to the length of your stay in Trento);
  • you have cash available in order to cover expenses during your trip and the first days in Trento (taxi, meals, transports, stay permit, security deposit and the first month’s rent for the housing, health insurance, etc.). Please also check the cost of living in Trento;
  • your referent Office at UniTrento is informed about your arrival and you have received from them confirmation of the appointment date and time;
  • you have received a confirmation of housing reservation in Opera Universitaria accommodation;
  • if you are a degree-seeking student make sure your study documentation is complete (please check the enrolment page for a complete list).

If you are an EU student:

  • your passport/identity document is valid for the entire period of your stay in Trento;
  • your health insurance is valid for Italy for the entire period of your stay;
  • you have cash available in order to cover expenses during your trip and the first days in Trento (taxi, meals, transports, first month rent etc.). Please also check the cost of living in Trento;
  • Your referent Office at UniTrento is informed about your arrival and you have received from them confirmation of the appointment date and time;

 

On the first day, bring to Trento with you the following:

If you are a non EU student:

  • all the documents required for the stay permit application;
  • your Italian tax code (if you have been already to Italy) issued by Agenzia delle Entrate;
  • your valid passport;
  • 5 passport-sized pictures (one is needed for the bus card and 4 for the Immigration Office);
  • your Opera Universitaria card if you have already been a UniTrento student;
  • up to € 1,300.00 in cash for the following expenses:

○ up to € 130 for the stay permit application;
○ € 150  for health insurance (if you do not have already purchased a private policy);
○ € 360 for Opera mandatory deposit (refundable) + € 40 when you leave for check out expenses   (non refundable);
○ up to € 330 for the first month's rent;
○ up to € 270 for the first month’s meals at the University restaurants;
○ € 50 for bus and regional train transportation if you want to purchase the yearly pass

 

If you are an EU student:

  • your valid ID
  • your Italian tax code (if you have been already to Italy) issued by Agenzia delle Entrate;
  • up to € 900 in cash for the following expenses:

○ up to € 350 for the first month's rent;
○ up to € 270 for the first month’s meals at the University restaurants;
○ € 50 for bus and regional train transportation if you want to purchase the yearly pass
