International opportunities for students

The ranking lists of the first call 2024/25 are now available in the Download box. Admitted candidates are requested to wait for the email with instructions on how to accept the place. (Updated 05/04/2024)

The oral interviews will take place online on 25 and 26 March 2024 according to the schedule that will be published on this page by 22/03/2024 and will be notified to applicants admitted to the interview by email.

Selection process

The selection consists of two phases:

  • Assessment of qualifications;
  • Interview.

Applicants will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

a) Curriculum studiorum (up to 55 points out of 100). This profile is based on the academic record of the applicant in his/her previous academic education (i.e. Grade Point Average and class qualification, educational background, Language certifications if the level is higher than the minimum admission requirement) extra-academic experiences if any, coherence with the MSc learning objectives;

b) Statement of purpose (up to 5 points out of 100); description of the personal goals and expectations with regards to the master's learning objectives;

c) Interview (up to 40 points out of 100). Through the interview, the candidates will be offered the opportunity to explain the reasons behind their decision to undertake this course of study, and explain what their previous studies were. They will be invited to briefly describe some basic concepts or principles of physics that have relevance to meteorology; in some cases, the committee may ask the candidate to explain how he/she would solve some simple maths, physics, or logic problems. The interview takes place in English so as to also test the command of the language.
Candidates will be admitted to the interview only provided the evaluation as per point a. will be above a minimum threshold that will be established by the evaluation committee

Candidates scoring at least 50 points will be declared eligible for the programme and ranked accordingly.

In case of candidates having the same score, priority will be given to the youngest applicant.
